Die Dekoration in Erle beim Saunabau ist heutzutage besonders populär. Grund dafür ist sehr niedrige Wärmeleitfähigkeit und Haltbarkeit, die die konstruktive Belastungen ertragen ermöglichen. Außerdem die Dekoration in Erle hat geringe Hygroskopizität, das bedeutet, dass sehr wenig Feuchtigkeit aus der Umgebung in sich selbst aufnimmt. Die Kombination dieser Eigenschaften mit der Lebensdauer ist die beste Variante für den Saunabau. Es gibt noch eine interessante Eigenschaft, die unterscheidet die Dekoration in Erle von anderen Materialen.
